Delicious light ice creams Sugarfree and for diabetics

Let’s now talk about sugarfree ice creams for diabetics. People with diabetes (both type 1 and type 2) must carefully control their sugar consumption to avoid spikes in blood glucose levels. Therefore, it is important to offer ice cream options that are low in sugar and that do not compromise the health of people with this condition. From experience I know that many times the sugar that some ice creams claim to have is not entirely correct and therefore blood glucose levels skyrocket. So, to avoid unpleasantness, as in the case of celiacs, it is best to make ice cream at home so you know exactly what is in it.

Ingredients of ice cream for diabetics

To prepare sugar-free ice cream at home, it is important to use low-calorie sweeteners instead of refined sugar. Avoid adding ingredients like sugar, honey, or corn syrup, which can quickly raise blood sugar levels. You can opt for sweeteners such as Stevia, erythritol or xylitol, which provide sweetness without affecting blood glucose levels. Personally, I always choose erythritol as a sweetener, here is my recommendation in case you want to take a look:

As for flavors, fresh or frozen fruits are generally used a lot to flavor ice cream. Take into account beforehand the amount of natural sugar that certain fruits such as raspberries or ripe bananas already contain. Another option is to use vanilla or chocolate essence (make sure they are also sugar-free).

As for milk or milk creams, you can use normal or vegetable milk, it depends on your taste. Whichever one you choose, make sure it doesn’t have added sugar.

Steps to make homemade sugarfree ice cream

Once you have chosen all the ingredients (such as milk and fruits), put them all in an ice cream maker or blender (below you can see my recommendation), and mix them well until you have a compact consistency. Here I leave you a special preparation to make ice cream at home with special skim milk:
